If you set those values to '1', log off, then log back on. "SearchboxTaskbarMode" (It should have a value of '1') "CortanaConsent" (It should have a value of '1') Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchĮXPORT / SAVE YOUR SETTINGS BEFORE MODIFYING THE REGISTRY (or Just create a restore point.) If, you did NOT previously consent to Cortana (even if you think you did but it's still not working), Check your registry as follows. If, only your user profile, fails to have access to Cortana - the problem is most likely an incorrect registry setting. If, after creating another user on your machine, Cortana activates. 3: Uninstall - Completely uninstall Cortana. ![]() 2: Reset - Reset will repair Cortana, but also delete and data. This is a fairly old thread but the problem continues for many here and I finally got tired of surfing Google and working with MS Support only to come up with nothing. 1: Repair - Repair will try to fix Cortana without losing any data and should fix your problem.
